Participatory Science and Citizen Science

Discover how you have the power to contribute to professional research as a citizen.

Participatory Science is at the heart of our project. Indeed, it is a fun and civic way to complement scientific work.

During various missions, we compile the data we collect and share it with the research community. This allows anyone interested in scientific research, without direct involvement, to stay informed on the latest advancements. Your actions therefore contribute to the advancement of science!

The practice of scientific outreach takes various forms. It may involve observing different animal species—birds, insects, reptiles, and mammals—to catalog them. It can also apply to marine biodiversity. Outreach can further extend to geology, thanks to the development of satellite technologies that have become more accessible with the rise of drones (geo-referencing), and even to astronomy through sky mapping.

The possibilities are numerous and simply waiting to be seized.

Experimenting with new scientific data collection technologies is an integral part of our camps. Equipment such as digital photography, spectrophotometers, microscopes, and drones is available in our holiday camps. The camps we offer are as varied as the scientific tools at our disposal: observing the total eclipse in the United States in 2017, monitoring cetaceans in Tahiti, or discovering the magnificent snow leopard in Kyrgyzstan are just a few of the activities on our program.
