St2 - Advanced Pedagogy, Mastery of One’s Role within OSI, Personal Development within the NGO

Seasonal Scientific Educators who wish to can become Professional Scientific Educators at OSI. This role offers several benefits, which are listed in this document.

The St2 is part of the ongoing training curriculum at OSI and is therefore a necessary step for those who wish to later take the St3, which is required to become a Program Manager at OSI, or simply for those who want to enhance their skills through the St3.

By having led at least three weeks of one of our science education programs (following ST1) and having satisfactorily completed this (or these) initial mission(s), you may then choose to take the St2 in order to become a Professional Educator within OSI. If you have not yet had the opportunity to lead a program, you can inform us of your interest in attending the St2 the following year.

 Dates and Locations

The St2 is traditionally held in the fall, during the Preparation Period, at one of the OSI Local Group Operations Offices. To know the exact dates of the St2 in your region for the upcoming year, refer to the schedule of the Operations Office of one of the OSI Local Groups with which you are working. You will then simply need to formally confirm with your Operations Office that you are registering for the St2.

**Upcoming Dates**

| OSI Scientific Stay Center Provence (Musiflore, Crupies, France): Monday, October 21 at 9 am to Friday, October 25, 2024 at 5 pm.

 Concept of the St2

The ST2 is a time for sharing with team colleagues. Beyond this, it is also a stage for reviewing experiences from initial missions within the organization, with the aim of improving everyone’s practices. It is designed as a “win-win” week, where everyone can explore and reflect on areas for improvement in their work approach.

What you will contribute to OSI:

  • Your ability to use personal reflections and analysis to enhance your practice.
  • Opportunities to gain skills through knowledge sharing with colleagues.
  • The strengthening of the OSI team of which you are a part.

What OSI will provide you through ST2:

  • An increase in your pay.
  • A rich professional experience.
  • Year-round mission priority (priority for assignments throughout the year).

In addition to your roles in programs, discovery classes, or training sessions, we can gradually expand your involvement in conferences on animation, education, science pedagogy, environmental education, technology, etc., based on your specialization within the team and your professional development goals.

You will join a working group for sharing experiences and skills, and you will gain access to OSI’s strategic discussions as an NGO member, as, with St2, you have the option to sign a Professional Educator mandate.
