How to embed a video in an article or Logbook

OSI has chosen to use YouTube to distribute videos in a logbook.

 Accessing YouTube

The first step is to request the YouTube account username and password for the program’s channel from the program manager.

If the Program Manager needs to create an account for the program on YouTube for the first time, they should go to http://www.youtube.com, log out of any personal account on the site, create a new account on YouTube with the program’s email address, and retain the user (the program’s email) and password to share with team members.

Log in to YouTube at http://www.youtube.com with the provided credentials.

Embedding the Video in the Article or Logbook

The video is now saved to the channel and is ready to be embedded in the logbook. By clicking on it, you can view the result. At the end of playback, click “Share” (circled area A) and then “Embed” (circled area B) to select the video’s display format. By selecting “Custom size” (circled area C), you can set the display size to 400px.

Simply copy the generated link (circled area D) and paste it in the article where the video should appear. Be sure to include the full iframe tags in the copy-paste.
