OSI and UNESCO

UNESCO plays a leading, coordinating, and focal role for education within the global coordination of the Sustainable Development Goals (Education 2030).

The NGO OSI positions itself alongside UNESCO to contribute to efforts in this area.

EDUCATION Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Address sustainable development challenges through scientific research and science education; inform and raise awareness among the public in all countries on the importance of Science Education and Scientific Research for both developing and industrialized countries with the goal of sustainable development.
Importance of citizenship education in a plural and interdependent world. Commitment to developing Science Education through solidarity science educational projects. Formal project-based pedagogy has been developed and regularly optimized, adapted to school settings (from primary to higher education), thereby creating the schools of tomorrow that will strengthen the country.
Commitment to inclusion and equity. The educational solidarity science projects are both socially and ecologically oriented, relying on social diversity and the inclusion of diverse volunteers who may become the future leaders of the new ecological generation.
Skill acquisition for work in a given field. Ensure the training of actors and decision-makers so they are competent in science education and scientific research.
SCIENCES Harness science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development. Scientific “research and development” projects focused on creating public-interest goods:

  • discover and develop scientific, methodological, and technological solutions to human-caused or human-related problems;
  • transfer these solutions to practical implementation by recognized ethical and responsible economic actors.
Link science to society, helping citizens better understand science, and thus promoting their participation in this field.
